Tara Signs worked with Morgan Sindall and Worthing Leisure on this project. The new leisure complex “Splashpoint” is a landmark building in Worthing costing £17 million to build.
We worked very closely with the architects Wilkinson Eyre, fine tuning the design of the signage, the building itself has been shortlisted for a European design award. Many local companies worked on the project and Tara Signs were solely responsible for the supply and installation of the signage, both internally and externally.
The site is only a hundred yards from the sea and is open to the elements. This made material selection for the external signage a key factor in the project. Grade 316 stainless steel was used for all the built up lettering, and all the steelwork had to be shot-blasted, hot zinc sprayed and then powder coated. The totem sign was clad in copper to match the cladding upon the building itself. This was a first for Tara Signs and our highly skilled team in the workshop were more than up to the challenge.
