Malt Shovel has been RAMped Up...

A TRADITIONAL COUNTRY PUB IN KENT …

Dartford is the principal town in the Borough of Dartford in Kent.  Steeped in history, it is thought the Saxons may have established the first settlement where Dartford now stands. Dartford Manor is mentioned in the Domesday Book, compiled in 1086, after the Norman Conquest, it was then owned by the king.

Historically,  The Malt Shovel is a 17th century pub, originally built in 1673, where local farm workers would sell barley beer out of the windows during fetes.  It is thought that some of the modern-looking facades in Dartford High Street conceal medieval and Tudor timber-framed buildings.

The Malt Shovel embraces their traditional past; you won’t find sky TV, gaming machines or a juke box but rather a welcoming fireplace and a historic tap bar with a great selection of Ales and delicious home-cooked food.
